I.H 1972 Skid steer loader model 3200

I just got it back from the case tractor shop this Saturday. It was over there for a long time and they work on the Hydrostatic stuff to make it move. The question I have to ask out here is that for those of you who have theses machines. Do you have an oil pressure gauge on it? I have one that was not working so I bought a new gauge and replaced it. No oil pressure is reading. I have oil and oil Pressure in the engine. Should this line be hooked up to the oil governor line that feeds the governor on this Wisconsin engine V-4 gasoline air cooled engine. Is there another port to tap in to for oil pressure for this gauge. Thanks Brent.

Brent that engine down low about two inches from the bottom on the side of the block , one side should have 4 1/4 in plugs that all would have oil pressure and then on the other side at least one tap there. Need to get a gauge in the block and see what you have then check you plumbing or line.

I did an engine swap for the neighbor in his old Bobcat and got the same results. After pulling the engine, dropping the pan, and not finding anything obvious, I did some googling.

From what I found, these engines don't have much in the way of oil pressure(like only a few psi). I found a post somewhere that said to pull the governor line off and if oil comes out when its running, then you have enough.

That's what I did, and the neighbor has been running it for a year and a half now.

What is the range of your oil pressure gauge? I'm guessing the standard 60 psi gauge. Maybe a 15psi or even lower range of gauge would display better. 5 psi on a 60 psi gauge doesn't move the gauge much. I know on my old tractors, VAC Case and T0-20 Ferguson they only had about 10-20 psi when new.

I would like to report back to you and say you are right. Thank you so much spent a couple of hours replace the gauge with a new I.H. oil gauge and oil pressure line. The old one in it was so old it was plugged up. Some people have told me they do not have one on there's but it is nice to see that even if it is just a little bit at idle. It is still nice to see there is oil pressure in it.

Put a new I.H. oil gauge in to it plus a new oil line to. Yes you are right these engines do not have much oil pressure in them. What I like to see if there is oil pressure in the engine when I am using it.
