Here's mine. I'm the old fat dude in the bucket.

Paid $6000 about 5 years ago. Came with no brakes, only the hand brake, the rear windows are glass-free as, I'm told, a tree fell on it. Cab floor is quite rusted. Leaks abound on it too. Costs about $20 in fluids and coolant before I turn the key. I've repaired a few minor leaks, things are tight in there though to get at anything. With tires that are 90% worn, 2wd and no pedal brakes, it's pretty near useless in winter. I've put around 250 hours on it since I got it. Strong heavy duty machine. Moves a bucket full of gravel and you don't even feel it. The boom is pretty heavy and I had some cracks welded soon after I bought it. The torque gets tired when doing a lot of dirt moving with the front end. Has to cool down sometimes. It's been through the war and it shows but I'll keep it till something big blows up on it. Next one I get will be 4wd with an extendahoe.

That looks like it's in pretty good shape. Must have been kept inside by the looks of the paint. Can you find the door?

It has actually never spent a night inside it it?s life . I worked for the guy who had this backhoe and it has a new transmission in it but they left water in it and the block is cracked so I?ll either weld this one or find another engine. I?m not sure about the door but if i remember right it?s there the top is just open and the bottom is half door that opens to inside ?

That looks like a nice backhoe . The one in the
picture doesn?t have brakes either so I need to
figure that? out . A backhoe would be so much more
handy as a loader than a loader on a farm tractor
especially these with the foot pedals to run the
forward and reverse direction

Yes, the foot pedals work well. On mine, the master cylinders are missing for some reason so I just use the handbrake when needed. Hard to tell in the picture but my cab and floor are somewhat rusted. Likely a snow clearing machine at one time.... I'm surprised at how well the paint has held up though. It'll take a bit of heavy lifting to get at the block. Same engine as a Massey 175, I'm told. Looks from here like there's a warp in the battery cover. I like mine though, even with all it's issues. Dunno how I got along without one. I'm glad, though, I didn't pay any more than I did.
PS, looks like the bottom door may be missing, mine swings out. I see too, there's a patch on the fuel tank. Wonder what the story is on that. Mine was full of algae or something and kept plugging filters, so I mounted a tank from an old Dexta on the right hand door and fender. Looks funny but works.
