Interesting machine. There was one at Junkshow back in
2002. With twin 6-71s it definitely has a unique sound.

The mining company I worked for in the late 60's had an Eimco dozer wit a 10' blade and a single 671 GMC diesel
engine. It was strong but the drawback it had was you could not push for too long or it would overheat the
transmission and then you had to let it cool before the torque converter drive would work right. We also had a
track loader by Eimco that had a 4-71 in it. What finally killed them was the scramble to get parts for the
Allison transmission in them. The dealer they bought them from went out of business and that meant about 500
miles to get parts shipped in. They were pretty good machines but the transmissions were the weak link in them.

It is really neat how they swivel in the middle. Supposed to keep as
much traction on the ground as possible.

Known as a "Double 6 Pack" here. 2 6-71's powering it. There is one here at the local Sunnycrest show on father's day weekend. It is owned by Jimmy MacFadden and they run it all weekend moving dirt.
