Waging war against stink bugs

I buy wood screws in 5# boxes. Do you have any idea how may stink bugs can find a winter home in those boxes? 50+
So I decide to use Folgers cans and hold a screw to can with rubber bands.

Sandpaper is another place the stink bugs moved in to. Plastic bags, the ones sheets and blankets come in with a zipper is where I put my sander and sandpaper. I turned sander on and out came pieces of stink bugs.

The war will continue in the pole barn.

This is what I use around the house in the fall on the outside along the basement ,up under the siding, and around doors, windows, and other potential entry points. It has drastically reduced the numbers in the house. It might help some. It's worth a try next fall. It is around $10 from Farm & Fleet.

Doesn't sound like a lot of fun. I think I might have seen some up here, not sure what their geographical distribution is. The link below tells a pretty ugly story of some people that had a major infestation. Not sure if I could handle that very well ...... it's a long read but is interesting !!
Stink Bug Nightmare ....

(quoted from post at 16:21:00 12/03/18) Never experienced stink bugs. We don't have em in western Colorado. They must stink pretty bad!
It's not the smell for me. I've killed lots of 'em and never smelled anything. It's the fact that they can get into everything. And they are relentless. Nothing kills them. Well, except fire.

Oh, good grief... the stink bugs sound like when the Asian beetles first invaded here and them "boomed" for a bunch of years.

Thicker than thieves, and somewhat stinky too, they invaded our house to the point one could barely stand it. One could not go outside with being bombarded by the vermin!!

Sure hope the stink bugs don't make a debut here.

A few years ago Asian Ladybugs were a problem. This year we had very few and record numbers of Stink bugs. And they live up their name, STINK.

Fear not the samurai wasp; a natural predator of the stink bug in its native country has been found in the USA also.
It may take years for the wasp to spread across the country but it is on the way.

But at least your dreaded stink bug does not eat your house from the inside out like the formosan termite does.

Attach the sample screw with hot glue. The rubber bands will fail from Ozone and fumes in the shop. (or be eaten by the bugs!!!) Jim
