John Deere 1010 transmission doesnt disengage

I have a John Deere 1010 diesel transmission wont disengage I split tractor put new clutch in still didnt disengage re split took secondary shaft powersteering and hydraulic pump shaft out put back together trans disengaged like it should ordered new shafts installed did same thing when I have it split I can put drive shaft in and clutch engages and disengages like it should even with both shafts on and same if I put them on transmission side

Welcome to to YT Chevy Trks! Need to clarify if your problem is the clutch is not disengageing?
Not familiar with that model at all but looking at a photo of one on Tractordata I don?t see how you
can have it split and tell if the clutch is disengaging properly because when split the
throw out bearing is in the back half and the clutch pressure plate release fingers are in the front
half so the correct function of the two as a set cannot be tested. Or is the issue all transmission
related? If so you will need to tell us if your shifter is on the dash or the top of the transmission,
tractor data says there was a change in the location to the trans top starting with the 1963 models.

I have a 1010 that sat for several years. Did an engine swap and could not turn the trans imput shaft. Found that the cluster gears were all seized together from not being fully submerged in oil and setting idle for years.

You did do the pilot bearing when you did the clutch, right? Also, make sure the outside of the disc isn't touching and hanging up.I had quite a time with an aftermarket disc on a 420.It just needed a few thousandths shaved off one spot.the disc needs to slide freely on the shaft,no binding, and NO grease.Make sure the release levers are set to specs, they are not preset correctly out of the box.
