Santa has been busy.

After Thanksgiving Instead of passing out from Turkey overdose, I went to workshop and carved on some wood.

Which one do you like, the fruitwood or walnut stain. The wood I used was Tulip poplar.

BTW, I hate wine.

Nice, both look great. Someone should be happy to get either. Not much on wine myself, glass of red every once in awhile. Now beer!!

Nice work,, George.

I like the lighter stain better. Guess that is the fruitwood.

Yes, lighter is fruitwood.
Amish like to use fruitwood on oak.
The table the wine racks are sitting on I made out of oak and used fruitwood. Over time fruitwood soaks in the oak and turns a lighter color.

I'm not a wood worker but have long liked walnut, as do most folks.

That said, seeing both pieces side-by-side, I like the fruitwood better.

Both look mighty nice!! I've got some black walnut boards left from a tree we cut up in the early '70s, thought the tree was hollow, was for the first few feet. Sawed it up in 3-4' lengths. Traded some for a 10" Craftsman table saw.

They both turned out good George. No cloudiness that I can see, which is typical if you don't use a pre-stain conditioner.

This year I milled and stained all the trim for our new home. The stain was English chestnut. Nathan
