Slime in tractor tires?

I put a set of new front tires (tube type) on my farmall 450. I took it to a welding shop to have exhaust work. Now the right front tire won't stay up. I guess i picked up a welding rod or big nail.

Does anyone put Slime or another product in their tires to help prevent flats? I put it in my tubeless ATV tires, works great.
Thanks.

I used to when I did a lot of brush hogging. It was an "industrial grade" I bought at Farm and Fleet. I can't recall the brand, it was light brown. I wish I could remember because it worked very well. Slime works too, but whatever this was seemed to work better for me.

The shop that fixes my tires hates Slime and advise me to never use it. So I never have and can't comment on how good or bad it is. If you
watch the one lonely farmer youtube channel he demonstrated a similar product called Tire Ject that seemed to be pretty good.

Probably is, but I ran over so many %!$#@ crab apple and autumn olive trees I couldn't keep up with patching. Seemed to work fine.

I kept having flats on the front of my ole h tractor with cheap thin china tires till I put a half gallon in each of the fronts no more flats now for about 4 or 5 years.

If it's a new tire and a new tube, I would give a try to fixing it properly at least once before resorting to a last ditch effort.

Slime will work. Slime will cause rims to rust. I had
two rims develope pin holes. I removed tires. Cleaned
off rust with wire brush and rust converted. Coated
rims with a rubber like flex sealer to remove rough
edges left by rust. Then installed tubes.

I'll use slime on lawn mower tires only, nothing
else.

I'd rather take the tire off, find the hole in the tire, make sure there's nothing in it and then patch the tube. Nice neat job, slime type stuff will turn the inside of the rim into a mass of rust.

Who had used slime or something like it in tubed tires? I know it works good in tubeless, just don't know about tube type tires...
Thanks

I would sooner think that when you replaced tires that someone pinched the tube. Take the tire off,- not that hard,- and find the leak. It will bug you forever if you don't find the cause of the leak, and repair it properly.

Dad put it in a rear tractor tire and was in it for 8 years till side wall of tire went out. When tire was removed there was no rust. Slime uses a corrosion inhibitor in their product.

I've used it. Works fairly good on tubeless tires. Never had it work on tubes.

I'd take your tire apart and check the tube. Patch any holes and very carefully check the tire. Keep track of how the tire set on the rim. Put a chalk V at the stem. It'll help you line up the hole in the tube and where it was on the tire.

I kept having leaks on the front tires on my loader tractor. local tire shop said they could have them filled with foam for 40
bucks a tire. I went for it, about 3yrs later one went flat. No foam in it just tire sealer. a coupla years after that they were
wore out, bought new ones told them that the one tire was supposed to have foam in it. Well it didn't never had a flat with it
though.

I spent 22 + years owning and operating a tire shop. Take it off and have it fixed. If it has a nail, piece
of wire, etc there is a 95% chance the tube will rip where the object is located. You cannot imagine how many
gallons if that crap I have poured down the drain in those 22 years.

The tire has been mounted and on the ground almost 2 years... would it take the pinched tube that long to start leaking? I haven't used it that much... about 3 hours total.
