Time to install my pre-heater

This isn't my idea. I had a 1971 duster with a pre-heater. Finished mulching leafs today. Temps finally got to 45 today so I installed my pre-heater and finished mulching leafs today. Jubilee is a little temperature sensitive. It likes warmer air. Next nice day, the mower is coming off, chains and snow plow going on.

I have one on a farmall B. The first one was crude but a few years ago I built a new one. I have used one since the late 60's and it can be below zero but tractor runs like it's 70 degrees.

(quoted from post at 15:59:07 11/17/18) My Case 930 gets a sheet of cardboard, tied to sheet metal works great!
That works fine on a diesel but the gas powered tractors can suffer from carburetor icing if they are not working hard enough or if the humidity is high in moisture. Some might be worse than others. I have seen it occasionally on the Cockshutts but if I shut the engine down for a few minutes so the heat can melt the ice in the carburetor throat, it will be fine after that.

It would be better if you could run the heat through steering wheel.

Do you remember the old air cooled VW's?
The heat for the car was taken from two exhaust heat exchangers.

So we are just reinventing the past.

I got the idea from my ford pickup truck that had the tube from the manifold to air cleaner. My uncle was a big fan of VW and owned a number of them. He said they were cold in winter.

The defroster in a VW was an ice scraper and a towel.
Heater started working after 15 miles.
Some never worked because the heater tube ran inside car's rocker panel which rusted out right behind the front wheels.

Main thing I remember from ours was your left ankle roasted and the right one froze:)

Engine side panels to move warm air from the radiator over the carburetor and back to the driver can help too.
