And there are people who would believe it too. They did try that with
the B-36. Two massive main tires. When one broke loose from the stowed
position and damn near took the wing off they went to the multiple
wheel gear. Original gear and four wheel arrangement. They also had a
tank tread set up.

I wonder how tank tracks would work on an airplane ✈️? Doesn?t seem like they would roll easy enough to work well In conditions that would require tracks

While the above story of the B-36 single wheel may have happen. Officially the multi tire "truck" was used because the single tire (because of landing pressure on existing run ways) limited the fields it could land at.
