Sparking up the $25 Welder-Generator

I'm posting this here because some of you were a great help in getting the generator fired up when I bought it. Saved me a lot of time. Needed a little gas down the carb to prime. Video is a little under a minute--short and sweet. BTW a local welder checked the welding function, burned through a couple of welding rods, but said the duty cycle was not robust enough to keep a steady weld going. I'm not a welder, just going by what he said. Old-school Miller welder, newer technology probably more efficient.

That has the Onan CCK. Built when Onan was Onan. Take care of it and it will last for years. I just did a tune up and service. On a 1958 version. Man still uses it around the farm. Engine parts are common. Will need model and serial number. If you are looking for engine parts.

Thanks, very robust motor. No unusual noises and it handles the generator well. For what little it fetched at auction I would have held onto it if I were the seller.

For got to tell you. Don't check the oil with the engine running. If you do you will get a face full of oil. If it starts leaking oil.
Check the breather valve. If it stops up it will push oil out of any weak spot it can find.

Thanks. I would only ck oil level with engine shut off. I think it's only way to get accurate reading. There is small drip under crankcase so I'll check to make sure nothing's clogged. I appreciate the advice.
