Sale near me on Saturday. I can’t go because I’m pallbearer at my wife’s uncle’s funeral.

around here $5000-$10000 =just what day of the week and the number of guys who show up at the sale ? Central .NY

Hard to say. Number of hours and if loader being sold separately or not, are to big of factors to pin this down to
a certain dollar amount. One point of advice, have a friend or someone you at least know bid for you. Don't leave
a bid with the auctioneer or anyone affiliated with them. If you do they will be sure to make it bring atleast
what your bid is, even if it would of otherwise brought less. Basicly gives the auctioneer a basement bid on it,
and ads up to you only getting one bid in on it. And if someone bids 10 dollars over, you not end up with it.
This won't happen if auctioneer doesn't know what your dollar amount is. Auctioneers represent the seller, not the
buyer.

While I understand what your saying, and would follow that advice at many auctions. I have an auctioneer acquaintance that I have left maximum bids with when I could not attend one of their auctions. At first I figured If I won the bid, it would be at my maximum price. But have been pleasantly surprised on several occasions that I won the bid at a lower than maximum bid. So there are some auctioneers who will please their audience as well as their customer. gobble

(quoted from post at 10:47:22 11/07/18) I?d love to have that . It would make an awesome
loader tractor and field work with that mfwd front

I don’t think it’d make a good loader tractor with the Koyker it has on it. Too lightly built. Also, unless they put a faster hydraulic pump on it, it would make for slow cycle time. I’d guess it would sell for MORE money with the loader off.

Sure wish I could make the sale... 5000 and I would own it. 10k wouldn’t happen. Couple guys I talked with think it’ll bring $20k

Legit black stripe? No obvious mechanical issues? Cab not rusted out or beat up? I could see it bringing 12,000 in the right crowd.

Auctions always attract b@tsh!t crazy money around here, so at an auction I'd going to say 9500 minimum, and I wouldn't be in the least surprised if it went over $10k on 3 days out of 5.

Assuming everything is in reasonable working order for the age, IMO it's worth $6500 to $7500 in the local market.

Agreed, Also depends if a consignment sale or a farm dispersal. I believe the loader might not hurt the value, Yes it looks very light duty, but to me it shows the tractor wasn't really abused because it would fold that loader up. Also the hours and if any previous work was done to it. All in all looks like it will sell well. Cab, front wheel assist and with all the rain we have had here, i'm thinking $12,000 sounds pretty close,

What is the control rod thing going up to the loader top all about?

I don?t care for the loader, it doesn?t look like it really fits the tractor.

I don?t really care for a loader on one of those, they don?t shift so well for constant loader work.

Is that a hyd front wheel assist, they have a bit of collector value but not all that much for real value these days. Or did they get a mechanical
back then?

I?d say 10 if it?s running all right and stays together. And for my negatives,, if it were sitting in my shed I?d certainly use it......

They are supposed to get the first bid from the croud and only after no more croud bids then bring in the absentee bid and they HAVE to anounce they have the bid when they place it. If they do not follow procedures they could loose their auction licence. Doing like redforlife sujests could mean an auctioneer is on the unemployment line as his licence could be revoked.

The rod thingy is just a bucket level indicator. As you said, that is a pretty small sized loader for that tractor, and if you look closer you will see the differential pumpkin in the axle. It definitely is a true MFD. I don't recall that IH never messed with hydraulic front axles.

Earlier this year I watched this 1566 FWA sell for $8,000...Beings thats a BS 1466 with cab, loader, nice
rear tires I'm guessing it will bring 10-12K,maybe a little more depending on hours,condition-etc..

Would that be an Elwood or Coleman front axle? Did they turn very sharp on 66 series tractors?

(quoted from post at 05:57:17 11/08/18) It's an Elwood, and that tractor is probably destined for a collection.

Friend went to the sale but got there too late. He was told it brought $14,000.
