Looking for new tires

In the market for some new tires (11.2x24) rear, (6x16) front, for my John Deere 40 and I am trying to find a cheap tire.If anybody knows of a good place I can get some let me know! Thanks!

I am not so sure there is such a thing anymore. I am needing some 225/75R16 for my older p.up but they must be made of gold. The days of cheap tires are gone I think along with many other things other than the products that the farmer produces.

Try Tucker Tire on eBay - inexpensive and a good reputation. I have bought from them twice and have been happy with their tires. They will not be a brand you have heard of, but they do what they're supposed to.

No such thing as a "cheap tire".Just go to your local farm tire store and get a quote on the most inexpencive tire they can get.In the end, still cheaper than internet or ordering and paying freight.Buying local keeps the local businesses in business, keeps the money local......Centerpivet irrigation tires are going to be cheaper than 'regular' tractor tires. 100 dollars or so cheaper. However, the lugs ae about half as tall, and half again further apart that a 'regular' tractor tire. You will hate them.

Try Nebraska Tire. I have bought several sets of tires from them. Even after paying freight they all were cheaper than any of my local tire stores. If you order tires from them you will need a commercial or business address to ship them to. They will not ship to a residential address. I had mine shipped to my local auto parts store. I think that is because the tires are wrapped to a pallet and the shippers want a fork lift for delivery.

I bought 2 tires and tubes 12.4-28 Galaxy earth pro. Paid $450 total. Bought from a local farmer who has an account with a tire distributor. Kevin in Central AL

I recently bought the same front tires for my JD 420, 6 X 16. I got them from Amazon believe it or not. The tires were Carlisle and they were $64.00 with free shipping. As far as the rear, I will admit to being a snob. I will not put imported tires on my American tractor.

Oh there are plenty of cheap tires out there. They're just not inexpensive.

To get an idea of brands and prices try simpletire.com but definitely give your local guys a chance first.
