My great Grandfather was a wheelwright. I never heard of him making wheels that size, but he did make wheels for a lead wagon a time or two. He got a contract to build 50 wagons for the California gold rush. He and his brother built the wagons in a year, which included cutting the trees, sawing out the lumber, as well as building the wagons. That had to be a lot of work when it was all done by hand. I have a few of his tools.

Death Valley Days is still being broadcast on the Dish Satellite TV. I saw a couple of episodes just a couple of days ago.

I built my house in 1979. Scattered 20 Mule Team Borax washing powder (not soap, a soap "surfectant" if you will) on the floor before covering with tile or carpet. In all that time, until the last few years (and I figure the ones I have came in on packaging as you see them sometimes when you open the box), and a few little OTC pouches in a few places, I haven't had a roach in the house. Somebody told me that back when I was building it and I decided to try it.....worked. Not sure if Borax is what's in the little OTC pouches. Wouldn't doubt it.
