Posting photos on the YT forum ...

Why are there so many problems and issues with YT'ers posting (or trying to post) photos here? I've never
been able to post any and have given up quickly when I have tried. I visit other forums where it's more
than simple. The waiting period (if there is one like some claim while others say there's not one) ....
well c'mon, how much sense does that really make?

The reason for a waiting period, or asking Kim to allow the photo early is to keep nasty pics from being posted by nasty people. they are on the net. Some of your issues may be in your computer, or its firewall/virus protection/or the extreme resolution of your images. If you are on a slow DSL or dial up provider, you might need to wait 5 minutes for it to load. At the bottom of the reply page is ADVANCED POSTING TOOLS, under that is select gallery. When there, you are prompted to "choose files" of the picture from your computer. You then need to wait until it shows up on your screen. Jim

There are picture size limits, per thread, and the speed is dependent on your internet provider and connection.
Chris has dramatically increased size limits so I can post pics again directly from my camera
s SD card, and my pic upload time ranges from lightning fast to some times taking 2 min before a pic is uploaded. I was using MSN for a browser and it was so corrupted by adds that nothing worked. After talking with Chris, I switched to Chrome. That cured 90% of my picture posting problems, and virtually wiped out all the adds that I was being bombarded with. I am on Spectrum cable for my internet, and they have way over sold their capabilities in this area. If all the neighbors are on the internet I am constantly sitting here watching the little wheel set there and turn. Spectrum seams to turn a death ear, as when they check the service it is during the day when everyone is at work. Evenings and weekends are bad.

For those that don't know, there is a forum to
test your posting abilities. "Test Forum"
It's way down the list of forums.
A lot of people have been testing their photo
posting.
There are a lot of neat pictures to look at.

Many smartphones take a picture over 5 meg size limit for YT photo uploads. Same goes for digital cameras. This requires a re-size or size reduction in the photo file before upload begins. We use "paint" program on computer to resize / reduce the photo file to below 5 meg size limit. Not unusual for a picture right out of a camera or phone to be 9 to 15 meg size.

I have been reading with great interest all of the troubles with pictures so I thought I would give it a try. It is cold rainy and damp fall day. Maybe this picture of the longest day of summer at sunrise will make me feel better.

It now takes my computer or smart phone from 10 to 15 minutes to complete the upload. No idea why but it does work.

The size limit of pics and vids is per each post, not per thread.

Interesting as those features are dead links no matter how many times I click them.
I have to go further down the page and click on the "BROWSE" button to get to my pictures folder.

I had to start using Chrome instead of Microsoft Explorer to post pictures on this site. Works great on Chrome. I can post pictures straight from my smartphone without downsizing but if I download a smartphone picture to the PC I will have to downsize that same picture to be able to post it on YT.
