Lift problem

Hello
I've got a 1963 ford 4000. I'm having trouble with
The hydraulic lift. The pto shaft broke I replaced it
But now as soon as you start the tractor the lift
raises regardless of the position of the lever and
won't lower. Any suggestions?

My guess is that you have air in the system. Is it rock solid or can you get it to bounce a bit?

What transmission is in your 4000?
If it's a gear shift/crashbox, I don't see how the PTO shaft would affect your hydraulics.
If it's a Select-O-Speed, post on the YT Ford Forum.
Larry NCKS or some of the other guys can help with the SOS part.
