Resistor or non-resistor plugs and wires for magneto

(quoted from post at 23:33:15 10/30/18) How do I know whether to use resistor plugs
and wires for a Fairbanks Morse magneto
type 20, FM X4B44B? The parts book shows
both.

Solid core wires and non resistor plugs. Unless you are using the engine to power an AM Ham Radio or an AM aviation radio.

Either it won't make a difference unless like replied above you want to use a radio. As far as the motor performance none and it's much easier and cheaper to find resistor plugs and wires though

While its less concern for a battery powered coil distributor ignition, for a magneto USE WIRE CORE WIRES (NOT carbon suppressor) and NON Resistor Plugs.

I agree with this completely based on my previous experience with magnetos in race cars.

Non resistor plug and wires do not suffer phantom internal breaks and loss of spark . Resister plugs and wires do fail from time to time .
