No discussion of Tom T. would be complete without this song. BTW, he also wrote "Harper Valley PTA", recorded by Jeanne C. Riley, as well as a bunch of other songs. Checked Wiki, and he is still with us, at the age of 82. That would have made him 75 when he performed the song on the link. There's some dialogue with it that makes it definitely worth listening.

He said he'd had the idea for Harper Valley PTA in his mind for years,but it just never came together until he was driving home one time and saw a sign that said Harper Valley Water District. He said when he saw that,the song pretty much wrote itself.
