Hydraulic Problem

I was lifting up a flair box with my Farmall 350 and all of the sudden it
stopped. I don?t have any hydraulics at all, no power steering, my fast
hitch won?t lift up nothing. Any ideas on what is going on. Thank You.

Without being there or any other info my first guess would be low fluid level. The box went as high as there was fluid to fill the cylinder, no more fluid to enter no more lift...and also leaving the tractor drained for other operations at the same time. Add more with the hoist on the wagon up, just be careful tractor may over flow when coming back down.

If it?s got oil then you?ve stripped a coupler broke a shaft or a key or have a massive internal leak or all the above

You're out of oil. You might need to prime the pump to go back to work. I would think if you just let it down slowly some it would help with the priming. Though it would not return through the pump. it might cause a slight pressure to the tank helping to push oil to the pump through the suction line. could also cause oil to over flow tank through vent.

If it was working good and broke under a load chances are it's a simple problem key relief valve etc but I didn't say it'd be a simple fix sometimes getting to the easy parts are a job
