Last mechanical work on LI

I heeded the advice on not blasting the engine, so scuffed it up today and got down to good metal or solid paint.

The housing behind the engine had a roughness in it, so I pulled that apart, both bearings were rough, so will get those and new seals this week. I would like to get those painted and the engine set back in before winter, so I only have to do sheet metal in the spring.

I have replaced almost every bearing in that tractor, all were pitted.

Funny how these tractors age. I did an LI several years ago and the only bad bearings were the front wheel bearings. Had to remove one shim from the #2 rod to get the clearance right.

This one sat for a long time, kids had filled the engine with sand, I think other things too based on what I have found. The clutch gear box was dry, all lube had leaked out, but at least it was dry.

I am ready to be done with this.
