my coolant pump on my m9ill quit the other day,it was 9 years old and had low hrs of use for its age,i called the company and its not available now so im looking for an idea.my cooling system is a 5 gallon bucket,i filter the return from the table,i use soluble oil and water,a mag base with a stream of coolant, low pressure, and roughly 36-42 inches of lift on a 5/16 i.d hose.the pump is 120 volt to.would a aquarium pump work to pump water and soluble oil,ive seen them with more than enough lift, but about a 50-50 good -bad on the reviews, being since on amazon their less than 30 bucks thinking about trying one ????

Aquarium pumps are diaphragm pumps designed to pump air. I really doubt they would last very long pumping water soluble oil. Try a parts washer pump, they are submersible.

Water soluble oil is somewhat aggressive to many components, as you have noticed it attacks vinyl hoses. I doubt an aquarium pump would work very long.

The ideal pump would be a pedestal type pump.

It would require some means of support, and preferably sediment tank to separate the chips from the coolant, but any type pump needs that.

The other choice would be a submersible pump, like a Little Giant pump.

I would call their customer service line, tell them what it will be used for, have the MSDS ready for your coolant.

You can buy a generic fit submersible lathe coolant pump, I have one in my parts washer that is still going strong after 30+ years.
Back then it was around $30.

Now days you can buy a complete parts washer for $50 so maybe look for someone who sells replacement pumps for them or just buy the whole thing and use what you need from it.

88-1175 -- I do Lapidary work (Cutting , Grinding , and Polishing of Stones for making Jewelry) and I use a small 120 volt Submersible Pump in a 5 gallon bucket for the cooling solutions . The Pump is the type that you would use in a Garden Fountain . Bought mine in the Garden Section of Walmart . Works excellent , you just have to remember to periodically flush the grit and slime out of the pump . I've been using mine for nearly 20 years now .
