Thank you for answering my question on how to remove starter. I now need to know what the small hole is on the bottom of the transmission pan with a link hanging out. If you don't know what I mean I will try and take a picture. I would like to know if I will get in trouble if I chop it off and plug hole. Thank for all your previous help.

There usually is a cotter-pin in the hole that is loose in there. It lets the oil that may leak from the input-shaft seal or rear engine main seal, so oil does not get at the clutch.

there is a cotter key in it. it will move when the tractor is in motion to keep it open in case you develop and oil leak. plug it up and if you have an oil leak you will fill up and your flywheel will start slinging oil and oil will get back to your clutch.

That cotter key is Ford way of keeping oil and water form building up in the bell housing so as to keep the clutch sort of dry. It need to be there and once In a while one need to clean it up by spraying carb cleaner or brake cleaner spray into and around it

Thanks guys, I'll CLEAN IT UP LEAVE AS IS,WITH OUT YOUR KNOLAGE, I COULD HAVE CREATED A BIGGER PROUBLEM.
