Rear Tractor 28" Tire Fitment

We just got a Ford 641 tractor (601 series) And it needs back tires. It currently has 11.2-28 rear ag tires on it. I've found some good used 13.6-28 ag tires for $100 each. They were used on the front of a MWFD tractor and are 8-ply Michelin radials. Will these fit my tractor for use on the rear ?

Yes the 13.6 will fit but. The 11.2 should be on 10 inch rims so the 13.6 will look a bit like balloon tires. 13.6 tires should be mounted on 12 inch wide rims but as said they will work

Hmmm. Now I'm worried how it will look and perform. Does anyone have pictures of that size mounted on the 10 inch rim?

They will be just fine I?ve got 480:80:38 metric
radials on my 4020 which are a half inch wider than
an 18.4.38 and they are on a 14 inch rim and they
look and work fine .

Maybe need to run lower air pressure with a bigger tire. Be open to experimentation. Maybe look around for 12" rims.

You will be just fine. Just do not air them up as high. Run around 10PSI in them so they lay flatter on the tread

Buy them before someone gets there first. I have 13.6 x 28 on a 641 with 12 inch rims. The tires look and I feel perform better than a narrow tire.

The ONLY thing the larger tire will do is give it more speed but unless you are trying to use it on a situation that requires a slow speed that you will not get with that 4 speed transmission every thing will be fine. Remember years ago they put a 10" tire on a 6" rear rim and it worked OK. Do not think about a problem with that tire of a 10" rim, it will not happen.

thank you everyone! I think I'm going to go with them! I think he has several pair so I'm gonna see what he has and hopefully buy an extra set too!
