Never thought I'd be on here recommending a book. If you buy on Amazon, can't promote this book too much. About an Amish boy caught in a tractor PTO shaft. About 20 yrs ago or so. Lives in southern Illinois around Sullivan. was taken to a hospital in Springfield, under 100 pages, makes me tear up every time.

I saw a video of a guy that got wrapped up by a pto shaft and a other one of a guy that was wrapped up in a round baler and they were cutting the baler apart to get him out. One good thing; they probably didn't suffer too much. Machines have no mercy.

When I lived in SW lower Mich there was a farmer that was putting corn in some big bins they had. There were 3 bins in a row and they had an auger going from one to the other with a catwalk along the auger. They were shelling in the dark and he went up on the top somewhere on the catwalk. It was about this time of year and he had a hooded sweat shirt on with the strings and somehow the strings got caught and when he was gone for so long his brother went up to look fore him. He was found all most decaptavated .. After hearing that I have no strings on my sweatshirts anymore

Not far from me, last year, a young farmer was spreading lime. He got off the tractor to check on something, and the strings on his "hoodie" got caught one of the spinner shafts. He was dead when they found him. He was only 29, and had two young children.
