1954 Ford NAA won't start after 12 volt conversion

I have a 1954 ford NAA jubilee tractor. Tractor started and ran before I changed it to a 12 volt system. Now, it cranks but won't start. I did swap the wires on the 6 volt original coil after being told there was no need to replace coil. I did nothing to the distributor. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
 
No need to replace the starter.

The coil is a different story. Either replace it or add a resistor.
Points are probably burnt now and maybe a burnt out coil.

You checked for fuel and spark, right? Any spark from the coil or nothing? I would tend to agree with the bad coil theory or the failure of a
resistor. Too small?
 
Pull a plug wire and check for spark. If none,check for burned points.If points are ok,check/replace coil.Grab a test light and check for power. Don't use test light to check for spark.
 
#1 jubilee was only made in 1953. The NAA was in 1954. Almost the same but not. I'm a purest by the way

Swap wires on coil?? Sounds like you need to do so simple testing. Since your now 12 volt that means your also - ground. So use a simple hot wire from the + side of the batter to the ignition side of coil. If it start then you have a problem form the ignition switch to the coil. If it does not start then check to make sure you have a good blue white spark at the center wire of the distributor cap that will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more if you do not then check the points
 
Sort of. Both years are model designation NAA, with only the '53 model year being the "Golden Jubilee, 1903 - 1953" the only difference being the front emblem.
 
Tractor is up and running again. Coil and plugs replaced. Smooth as a babies _ _ _ . Thanks for everyone input, very much appreciated.
