Pics From the Rust Yard

Spent a couple hours walking through friend's collection of rust. He's had all these machines running at one time or another. The one I'm drooling over is the Mack single-axle dump. Will post a few more pics in the coming days.

The Mack is fantastic! Love the advertising remnants on the door too.

Hope that ol' girl NEVER gets painted. :)

Thanks for posting Red. I love those old Macks. A local knothead sent 3 or 4 nice ones to the scrapper a couple of years ago. I would have loved to have bought them at twice the scrap price.

Had a friend who was a diehard MACK man I told him driving a MACK was like going out with a lady of the night it was ok if no one saw you.

(quoted from post at 19:54:57 10/14/18) Does he have plans to restore those?

[b:3cf95cf4b2]Very much[/b:3cf95cf4b2] looking forward to more pics!

The plan is to start moving these pieces out to new homes sometime next year or so. He is downsizing and having his own private rust yard no longer fits in his plans. I asked about the Mack (not like I need something like that) and he said he'd like to see it go to the historical society he belongs to that puts on demos of the big equipment--have it running with the shovels like the Bucyrus Erie I made a video of sometime back.

SweetFeet, it's a sweet truck LOL! What impresses me is how complete it looks--all the badges, the chrome front hub caps, mirrors, it's all there. My understanding is that something got bungled with the two-speed shifter for the rear axle but otherwise a good running truck.
