Leaking John Deere 830 Two Cylinder Power Steering

Has anyone tried Lucas Power Steerling Leak Stop in a John Deere 830 Two Cylinder Diesel Power Steering? I have a leak on the pump by the fan. Should I trie Lucas?

Lucas is as good a name in leak stop as any. The material causes swelling of neoprene and rubber parts so that they reseal. the issue is often that the swelling doesn't
stop there and after a while other seals and cylinder packing can fail. Should you do it. If it was going to cost hundreds to fix, and if the fix included multiple
components, I would do it. if for no other reason than to postpone the full expense. Jim

Thanks Jim! Appreciate the feedback

An 830 power steering pump is pretty easy to R+R and reseal vs. (say) a 730.

Suck it up and OH/reseal the pump instead of expecting "magic juice"/snake oil to do the job, just IMHO! ;-)

I used Lucas power steering leak stop in a John Deere 70 Standard several years ago. The tractor had a slow leak at the front housing. I filled the power steering reservoir with Lucas once and refilled approximately half once again. The tractor was sold several years later with no further leaks. I would try it at least once.
