Back in the late 60?s early 70?s , any farmer that had
that tractor was the envy of the neighbourhood. One
of our neighbors had a Ford 5000 open station,
made me drool every time I saw it. My how the
times have changed our opinions on what is a large
tractor.

My dad bought one of the first 6000 in the early 60's. It was in the repair shop more than the field. SOS was junk. Ford finally gave he a different tractor.

Right on, Bruce. Those were a pretty darn good machine. Still see a few around here earning their keep.

European model, very nice. I had a 4600 with grill and rears like that. Canopy was very similar to a cab without the windows and doors. Came from
Holland. Had an elaborate setup of turn signals and blinkers and all.

Post August 1970 Ford 5000 fitted with a safety cab posing at Newark Showground here
in the UK. This is my local showground were we run the Vintage Tractor show the
second weekend in November every year. MJ
