Cub cadet lawn tractor

The original fuel pump went bad on my Kohler 12.5hp. Original replacement is pricey. Any one ever used a electric fuel pump on a lawn tractor and if so what will be the correct pressure. Been looking at one with 2.5-5 psi. What are your opinions??

Thanks

I think I got a replacement for my cub cadet from Amazon seems like it was about 16$. Not sure if there is a difference in different engines

I have thought about doing that to our Husqvarna, it still runs great after about 600 hours on the 15 hp V-twin Kawasaki, but the fuel tank is under the seat and after sitting very long it has to crank quite a while before starting. I understand with an electric pump you turn the key on wait a few seconds and they start immediately, that would save on starter wear.

I put electric fuel pump on JD 318, Facet 40163, 1.5 to 2.5 psi part number for pump and Microgard filter 33049 from O'Reilly's. Turn on key, hear pump working, wait until sound changes, turn to start, engine starts almost instantly.

Go to ebay and search for AM876265.

Generic ones are less than $13 shipped, and I've real good luck with them.

Used one on a Ford New Holland I had. 1.5 to 3lb pressure. Too strong a pump will over run carburetor needle valve. (YT18H)>
