How many times has this happened to you?

You go to summit a post and get server error. Hit the back arrow and post is GONE.

This is happening more often. I copy my post before I summit it. Saves time

Also get message saying post one forum and not the other.

Who often does this happen to you?

It happens to me nearly every day. I often post a message and find out I'm not on the internet. I'm using a NetGear hotspot for internet and very often it has a "No Battery" error message where it shuts down. I have to remover the battery and re-insert it and re-boot it to get back on the internet.

Just exactly how do you "summit" a post?

You get to the top of it.

Geo.,

That happens to me frequently. I do as you do, in that I always copy my message before hitting the "review" or "submit" keys. Then, if the message fails, I can just post it to another message and try again.

Did you ever hear of a mistype? Some times, a poster hits the wrong key and something gets spelled wrong. BUT, your brain sorts it out and tells you what the wrong letter should be. Well, maybe not in your case.
So far, everybody but you knows what George meant and leaves the misspelling alone.

Depends where you live. Farther south you summit the message.

Farther north you might submit it.

All in good fun. :)

Years ago I had lots of troubles with stuff like that, of late it?s been pretty good around here, but the last couple days it takes a loooooomg time
to submit a message.

One of hind you can try is to clear your cookies. Then you will need to re apply your password and such, but at times the cookie gets sorrupted
and confuses things. Cookie is a real small file on your computer site use to keep track of things about the site. Sometimes they get confused
and cause issues.

I don't think I've ever had that happen, but I have clicked on a post and found that it won't open. When I hit the "back" arrow, the post has completely disappeared. It happened just the other day. I guess I was witnessing the very moment that it was being deleted. And just when it was getting interesting.

Its rare for me but sometimes I"ll get the "server hangup" message when I go to submit a post. Click the back arrow and its still there so I get to try again. Second try usually works fine.

It is becoming more frequent.

At times I compose a lengthy "[i:654c4848f0]draft[/i:654c4848f0]" reply in a Microsoft Word document.

Copy and paste the draft in the <a href="http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/dbtest/wwwboard1.html">Test Forum</a> on YT.

The reply is corrected of modified as necessary in the Test Forum, copied and pasted back to the MS Word document, and saved.

This process is repeated as necessary until the draft is finished.

The final draft is then copied and pasted in the appropriate YT forum (Tales, Talk, Implement Alley, John Deere) and submitted.

It is very frustrating to spend a lot of time and effort replying to a post just to have it "[i:654c4848f0]evaporate[/i:654c4848f0]" because of a "[i:654c4848f0]server error[/i:654c4848f0]".

James, you ain't kidding, I've often done the same thing, and or in reverse to get out and away from the field of entry on this site to avoid losing the work. I used to enjoy researching things to help another here, have lost the work afterwards.

Firefox used to let me toggle back and forth between the preview and entry page, but with Windows 10 and "e" browser, do that and the page is blank when you return. That got me a few times as well.

One benefit of having a saved Word document is that it can be used again.

Sometimes the same or <a href="http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=jd&th=615707">similar "[i:654c4848f0]question[/i:654c4848f0]" is asked by a different YT member</a>.

Makes it easy to answer their question by making a simple edit if necessary.

That and other oddball things have been happening for around six months, latest one is an occasional double post I find irritating, second post can be later five or six hours.

That has happened to me every once in a while. I blame it on operator error, me. I mite be one of the older guys on here, so I just keep on trying to get things to work. clint

I haven't gotten it when posting but I have
when reading posts. It is some kind of problem
with their server.

Hadley,

First, you've got to shinny up a post. Then, when you are perched on top like a Crow, you have succeeded to "summit" a post.
