Where do you get on line auto parts ?

Where do you get auto parts on line. I have tried several sites and the prices seem ridiculously high. I tried CARQUEST and Canadian Tire and can't even get onto their site for some strange reason

Advance Auto will ship to your door for free if over a certain amount like $20 or 25. I signed up for their rewards points and after buying something they give you so many dollars off your next purchase. I've had a couple of $40 coupons already. Plus if you look on line you can usually find a 20 to 30% discount code you can also use. I mostly get name brand stuff from them so quality isn't an issue.

I check rockauto first and then search the part number on Amazon and eBay and compare. Probably end up buying 60% amazon/30% ebay/10% rockauto. We have an Amazon Prime account so most parts are free 2-day shipping.

I've had good luck with Rock auto. And I'm talking old stuff for my 52 Merc. Also just got a heater core for my 81 GMC pickup from rock auto. So far I have no complaints on their service.

I like to support my local dealers. I like to buy lifetime parts locally. So short term local parts may cost more. Long term getting a lifetime part replaced is a money saver. Very easy to return part.

The only time I go online is when I can't buy it locally. Then I go to Amazon and ebay. I like Amazon because if I have to return something I don't pay return shipping. Not so with some dealers on ebay, you pay return shipping.

Ebay is trying to compete with Amazon's 2 day shipping. I bought a bumper and class 4 trailer off ebay and got it in 2 days.

So before buying anything online, check to see who pays return shipping.

I try to support my local auto parts store CARQUEST, I know the people there, and their families, guess I'm old fashion. I want to support my town first. Just my take.

Usually check Advance and Auto Zone (sometimes O'Reilleys) to see if I can pick it up locally. Sometimes fleabay and as a last resort, Amazon. Have never found Rock (with the freight) to be competitive, have used them a coupla times.

Ebay, rockauto, am_auto parts. Depends on what you want. Usually about 1/2 price of local auto parts stores. But sometimes you just can't wait a few days.

Try Autoshack I have bought from them a few times now, prices, product and delivery was decent.
They are in Ontario so no hassles with duty, exchange rate, shipping etc.

Rock Auto's cartoon depiction of buying parts at the local parts store has the doofus behind the counter saying "I can probably get it from the warehouse". So, order it from Rock Auto and it is shipped from their warehouse !

I'm not sure rockauto actually has an warehouses ? Stuff seems to get shipped from all over in multiple packages. I was trying to order items by where they ship from so as to save shipping but it still got split up on my last order.

i do the same thing. Rockauto's list of a ton of part options then search for the best prices. RAuto's shipping for more than 1 item usually knocks them out for price so i've only ordered from them 2 times and the last time fedex goofed up the delivery... didn't seem like it would have been easy to rectify with RAuto IF i needed to.

i still always call local stores to see what they have and prices. some stuff isn't too bad BUT seems like no one carries anything anymore. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE has an air fliter for my 2014 Cherokee. they've made close to a million of them now and NO ONE has the darned filter.

have bought from eeebay and amazoon too but amazoon has bee WAY high on prices lately.. like buy local kinda high. have bought from Summit a time or 2. very hit or miss if they have a good price.

I suggest you try Ebay. I ordered a carb from "I Save Tractors" for my 780 It cost me 62 dollars including shipping. Later on I found hundreds of the same carb on Ebay for $25, free shipping. Second choice is YT and Steiner third. Be very careful. You can get bbit easy like I did. He probably buys them from Ebay, doubles the price and charges shipping. PT Barnum said there is one born every hour.

If you are shopping from a Canadian supplier try PartsAvatar.ca
Free shipping if your order is more than $99 Canadian bucks.
Usually about four days to receive. I think they have a warehouse in Vancouver, Edmonton Toronto Montreal and Moncton
They have had nearly everything I have needed.

I use parts train. They were the first one that I found, the site works well, and the prices have appeared to be very good.

Rock Auto. The last spark plugs I bought were 17.00 each local,1.99 at Rock Auto. Apples to apples. I need a new steering box for my truck, local $300.00 R.O. $155.00 same brand.
