They are still in there

Many years ago I posted a picture of a shed roof starting to fall in . Inside the shed were two Case tractors. We drove by there again just the other day .
The shed has fallen down more over the years.
The Case tractors are still in there,

,,The Adirondak Case guy might remember when I posted the picture many years ago of the shed roof starting to fall in.

I went to an estate sale 30+ years ago. Old fella had
no kids, and willed his estate to some distant family
of his late wife. These folks laboured away dragging
equipment out of a shed that had been put away in
there around 1948. The shed had settled down on
some of the stuff, and had to be jacked up to free
the equipment. While the preview of the auction was
going on, and a crowd had started to assemble
waiting for the auction to begin. The shed collapsed
into a pile of dust and rubble. Fortunately no curious
auction goers had gone into the shed for a look
around.

Somebody needs their head worked on. Some people sure don t care about nice Case equip. Seriously some people
don t give a rat s a$$ about old equip. of any kind. RB

RB ..... well look at it this way. I have no interest in video or computer games, and someone who is into that stuff might comment that they can't understand why I could care less about those things. But to go a step further and suggest that I need my head examined would be stretching their criticism a bit too much.

about 5 miles from where I live there is a newer IH tractor, with cab under a barn that fell in. It is falling more off the tractor over time but has been there for 15+ years. Looks like nice enough tractor to fix but apparently the owner doesn't want to do anything with it or sell it. Hard for those of us who would like to salvage older tractors but of course he can do what he wants with it.

They are the owners, they can do what they want for sure..I saw the Case tractors many years ago,,and just wanted to post them .I was surprised they were still in there many years later,,and more of the shed let loose than the original picture.Loren may remember the original post.

You know if that guy pulls those tractors out and puts them on Craigslist I know exactly what will happen. He'll get a bunch of so called collectors who will pick them to death tell him he has a bunch of junk and how the seller is lucky to have someone to haul them away. Many people don't want to hear all that garbage so one day they'll call the scrap yard to come get them.

Well, before you cast judgement, take a moment to consider that that may be you some day. Advanced in years, long beyond your ability to work with, or work on tractors, let alone climb up on the roof of a barn. That's your life's work sitting out there. Those machines. Could you really bring yourself to sell them, considering how little they're worth, even if the barn is falling in on them?

After the old farmer passes on, his widow is usually less inclined to maintain the outbuildings, and too overwhelmed to even think about trying to deal with the equipment, so it lingers. Sometimes you get a gal that wants to pull up stakes and move to Florida before the body is even cold, other times it's tough to let go.

This is probably one of those cases where the old folks who own the place, or maybe even their kids, are having a tough time letting go. You'll just have to wait until they're ready before you can get your paws on those old machines.

Better protected than sitting out! There is a Ford Model TT and "an old touring car" in a barn I know about. Fellow is a nice enough guy and doesn't want to lose what he has. I've never even see the stuff but I've tossed out numbers. Going on a three years probably now and I'm making some progress! Since you didn't mention making an offer either time it's possible they'd let them go if you showed interest. Or they could shot you on the porch.. but more likely it's something in between.

your right,,could be many reasons,,I just took a picture from the road as an old tractor post,,I
dont have any need ,,or strength ,,lol ,,to buy them,,just like you described,,your right on the
mark!!

Crazy Horse I ll admit I know what your saying. My youngest brother is 18 yrs behind me and can t understand why me and my bro. 3 yrs behind like old equip. I guess it irks me to see buildings fallin on old equip. Don t want to see scrappers get em either. RB

The worst part is the kids will probably send em to
scrap becuse if they cared at all about them they
wouldn?t still be under that falling down shed
