That's what I thought also, but the photo description is what I went by. Is a very low quality photo, so difficult to be certain -- at least for someone not familiar with these things (like me!).

I've thought about the same idea, only side mounted to be easier to move along a log.

dad has an old hydraulic chainsaw. It has a PTO run pump then the saw has a motor on it. The bar is about 30 inch and 4 inches tall. Used a 9/16 chain. Two 3/4 hoses about 20 feet long to connect the 2. Would kill the H if the chain stuck on to big a bite.

You guys are right that one is NOT hydraulic driven. It is straight gear of the pto but they had a deal in that little right angel box so when you raised the bar the saw stopped then as you went back down it locked up and the chain turned. It would saw good with the tractor at idle .
