Thinking about making a EFI carb replacement

I am itching to try something.

I think that a scaled down EFI TBI is very possible, get away from using O2 sensor, just make it a better carburetor.

I would try this on neighbors 2510.

Good idea. Bosch systems (not fly by wire) could be adapted. It is a missing element in fuel efficiency for the carb fed tractors we adore. Jim

Holley offered something like that many years ago. It was called the pro-jection II. (670 cfm). Then they came out with the pro-jection IV. (900 cfm) It was just about the most miserable monster to tune ever invented. After a year or so they offered an O2 sensor retrofit kit that improved it dramatically.

The best vehicle I every owned had that, 90 Chevy Blazer With a 4 bolt main 350 engine EI,EFI which was a glorfied 4 barrel, but it was reliable. Had to change the EFI part of it one time, just unplug the wire, remove it from the top of the throttle body a clip held in place.took about 5 minutes. Other than maintainance thats all I ever did to that truck, had it 22 years.

Visit a site called Binderplanet and look at the section Fuel injection FAQ.

There is all the info you will ever need and more on adapting every known EFI system and distributor to 4 and 8 cyl engines.

David, have you looked at Zenith Fuel Systems ZEEMS I and ZEEMS II systems?

Systems can even included electronic governing.

Will answer 2 questions.

I have found that the O2 sensor is mostly used during tuning, if you do a good job tuning it through the ranges it runs really good, so I would not make that permanent.

The siamese manifolds found on most inlines really makes it difficult for port injection, if 1 to 1 on runners, then yes.
