My son and I took the 51 GMC 3/4 around the block, and the event was a radical success. Parked in front like a real vehicle now. Jim

If it is the original, at least what my dads truck has, straight 6 with the GMC engine it has replaceable bearings all the way around.

51 250 series 3/4 heavy duty 270cid with 4 speed, 17 inch wheels no rust. I am redoing the wiring to make it reliable and safe. All the original wires are just cracked and falling apart. It runs very well with 60K miles or so. I also turned a new king pin. It has needle bearing based pins that are fabricated by me from 4140 Chrome Molly. Jim

My Grandpa drove an old GMC pickup like yours, stepside, wood floor. His had round windows in back corners. Not sure of year. Does yours have rounded windows?

I think most 3/4 ton had the 7 window cab, with 2 front pains 2 vent windows, and 2 door wind up, with one rear flat glass. mine has no corner glass. Jim

I've seen that vintage of GM trucks with both type back window configuration. Got one here with the corner windows. Think it is a 9430. Also a parts truck which does not have the corner windows.

i have only seen the corner windows on some 1/2 tons, believe it was called the deluxe cab.
