We finally got the last hurdle done and everything is signed and the farm is all mine, well after 180 easy to make payments anyway. Lol. Seems there is always something that comes up and this deal has been a tough one. I don't have much experience with this and trust more than I should, as a result not everything on our house was done right when we bought it, so there were many things that needed to be straightened out before ours could sell. What a chore that was. And to make things worse, the buyer was getting a first time buyers loan from FHA, so that adds an extra layer of hassle. So in spite of an issue as late as 830pm yesterday, and I'm as surprised as you that a banker was working at 830 last nite, everything went off fine this morning. It was kind of fun because the young gal that bought our house was so emotional that she was getting a house that she kept crying whenever she thought of it. She was just so happy. Lol. Anyway, the farm is mine and all is go9d with the world.

Congratulations Jon. Sounds like everyoneinvolved got first time butterflies. Now you can look out and see everything that needs done.

Congratulations I know well the feelings and emotions. Last October we sold our farm and homestead where we lived 40 years and raised our family and that was tough, but downsizing and buying our new "last home" last month was also exciting.

John T No longer "homeless" but still on an "old age pension"

Jon, you will never "retire". Oh you may not work trucking around containers, but there is always work to do on "the farm". I've been "retired" six years. Today I repaired my truck, my grandsons car and mowed about 9 acres of hay. Shop needs cleaned up and put back in order wifey has a cabinet project for me and of course the hay is down but needs to be put up. I've read enough of your posts to know you'll always be busy. Its a great life. gobble

Congratulations Jon,

I lived in Southern Minnesota (near Rochester) back in the early 1970s. Farm land was selling at that time for $300.00 per acre. As pathetic as it sounds, I tried to buy an 80 acre place but couldn't come up with enough money to do so. I rented 120 acres for $20.00 per acre.

Times have sure changed since then, eh?

Lots of nice out buildings, so you will have to go to collecting. Ever dollar you spend on it will return value to you as owner. Nice place glad you got it all worked out.

That's great news.

Yah - with real estate, it "ain't" a done deal until every "I" has been dotted and every "T" crossed.

That is good news for you. Congratulations.

But might be bad news for us... How in the heck are you going to find time for "Today's Funny"?

Congratulations! You'll certainly enjoy being on your own property. We went through the same thing you did 2 years ago when we moved on to our place. We sold our old house to a young couple they were so happy with it they have invited us over a coue of times since they moved in to show us what they've done with it! I've worked on this place getting it where I want for a couple years now and have loved every minute of it. If you can post some pics of your progress would love to see it. I wish I would have. Enjoy!

Congratulations! Bet that is a good feeling. We know you will enjoy the place and make it your own.
