My tractor has a lot of blow by out the blow by tube. It?s not like I little bit that comes out there is a lot of smoke that comes out of it. Sometimes it will blow a little smoke out the stack and it doesn?t come out the blow by but then when it quits coming out the stack it pours out the blow by tube. The tractor is a gas, thanks for any thoughts.

After it sits for a day or more crack the drain plug on the oil pan and unscrew it till it almost comes out. Catch the drips and see if it is water, or coolant, or oil. If oil, I would live with the blowby till it needed an overhaul. If other, fix it. Jim

That is usually caused by leaking rings.

Somehow excess combustion gasses are getting into the crankcase.

If it slowly developed the blow by with little noticeable performance loss, chances are it is just worn compression rings.

If it happened suddenly, and there are other problems, like loss of power, poor idle, unusual noises, it could be something has happened as in a blown head gasket, a damaged piston, dropped valve, or damaged or stuck rings.
