John deere 30 combine elevator drive belt routing

I'm getting the old combine up and going again, I have ran into a problem with the belt that drives the evelators, it is suppose to have a twist in it but I can't keep the belt from rubbing itself where the twist is, I think I have it routed correctly and nothing g I attempt to do seems to help. Does anyone out there have one of these machines to look at to compare?

That's the way it is,,I tried different ways to keep it from rubbing on mine..but went back to the original way..

Is this on a pull type 30? I have the book if it is.

The 30 was never made in anything but a pull type and the 30 is basicly the same as the 25 except with an auger head instead of canvase. All patterened after the 12A. And I have never seen a twisted belt location that it did not rub on itself.

Yes it is a pull type, even has its own engine.

Ok so this is a normal situation? I just figured it would burn the belt or something.
