240 moving round bales?

I have a Farmall 350 which is quite a bit more tractor than a 240. Picking up and moving 1400 lb
round bales on the fast hitch is just about all my tractor can handle and I'm sure the weight is
exceeding the design intent. If I had to do more than a bale every month or so I'd be looking for
something bigger.

The hitch has to lift power but the front end does not have enough up front so while it will try to lift the bale your also likely to slowly start looking up at the shy and that is not a good thing to do on a tractor because that can get you dead. You will need a lot of weight up front to do it

You can - just barely - if you have enough weight plates on the front end to hold it down. You won't be going very far or very fast, though.

Front weight is probably a must for that size tractor. On Ford and IHs I had to. Matter of fact just added some today to my Ford 3910. Put 100# out 1 foot
in front of the grille. 7' from the grill to the rear axle. 8'x100# gave me 800 ft-lbs. Yepper it worked just fine. What's nice about ft-lbs is you get the
benefit of the weight (for rear lifting improvement) without much loading of your front axle.
