I've not seen anything like this. Do I see a pulley and some kind of belt going to the top? At first I thought blower. But now I'm thinking elevator. What's he doing, shoveling grain into it? But somebody, or something has to be taking it away from the top?

A transition from horses to tractors is shown there. Grandpa made the switch for us around 1935.

Just barely remember dad having horses and a box wagon like that. Then had to throw in a CC Case. Had to be the late forties. Need that picture to hang on the wall.

I never farmed with horses or seen it done but how could you get them to back that wagon up that accurate?

Dad had already transitioned from horses to tractors by the time I was old enough to remember, but an old bachelor neighboring farmer continued to farm with a team of mules until he passed away. I watched him back his wagon and team up to the hammer mill Dad had many times. They could do it.

I have a buddy with a team of mules that he could make them parallel park.

I got to see the Anheuser Busch team once. They demonstrated backing to a loading dock. They could do it very good. Even with alllllll them horses. Just need to know your gee from your haw, I guess.
