A couple days ago I was chopping hay and unhooked the wagon at a place where I thought it should stay. Well it didn't stay - it headed toward the cattle lot. Thinking I couldn't let it run through the cattle lot fence and let my cattle out into the bean field I stopped it with the front wheel of the tractor. All was well until I backed the tractor away from the wagon. That is when I saw glass fly - from the head light of the tractor. Have you priced a new deluxe headlight for a R series Deere? Holy mackerel! $889 and change. Can't buy just the lens. Can't buy the whole molding. Hafta buy the whole works, lights, ballasts and all. Oh, and I broke the lower light too, but it is only $160. Makes you consider putting a patch over that eye and calling it a pirate.

You must have the infrared lights ? I remember when the hid lights came out and they were 300$ . Never priced the infrared ones

Automobile manufacturers are in on the same scam. Gawdy huge headlights that go where the cars use to have fenders. I'm sure it is not coincidence that most fender-benders happen to smash a headlight. LOL

Our dealers dad used to hang around the store and bs with the customers. He said they used to plow all night holding a flashlight. The batteries would make till it was time to milk in the morning. I bet they complained about the cost of batteries. LOL

(quoted from post at 10:42:20 08/24/18) Just what I thought. [color=blue:e98d1a7ff8]Next time I may do things differently.[/color:e98d1a7ff8]
Oh, so is this a "regular" event?? *lol*

I started my JD standing beside it, not realizing the mower was all that was holding it. Soon as it started the mower raised, and the tractor took off down the hill. straight for a 20 ft drop off. Some how it got stuck in a ditch at the face of the cliff. It's things like this that make one realize how easy accidents happen. Stan

I screwed a large screw-hook into the front side of the third cross member of each of my wagons and keep a wheel chock on each one.
