Plowing some rocky ground tore the bottom off and broke 5 shares at 75$ in 20 acres . Hauled some straw getting ready to bale more . Going to spray tomorrow if no wind

ouch, that's not good sv. nothing worse than rocks buried in a field, B.T.D.T. plowing a neighbors small field I broke a coulter blade and a share :evil: put a box on the plow and must have made 20 trips to the rock dump on the end of the field, rocks from 8" to 20". who is the handsome young fellow on the sprayer? looks like he belongs up there :lol:

It really takes the fun right out of plowing . Plow for 30 minuets work
on the plow 30 minutes already made two 120 mile round trip joy
rides to get parts . Why? Because local fix it again tony stocks no
parts whatsoever no bolts no shares or anything 😡😡 we can get
em but They are two weeks out with freight added . I have a
independent guy who has more parts in his one little building than fiat
mart has in there whole system just to bad it?s a 2 hour drive to get
there but when there is work to do I can?t sit around for half a month
waiting on parts . One of these first days this weather will break and
it?ll rain for 2 or 3 weeks every other day then you wished you?d have
went when you could

One of my nephews. Some day I?ll have a no till drill but it?s not in the near future. This is a custom plowing job on some ground that hasn?t been touched in 25 years . It?s getting the deep ripper then plow next fall

I learned that lesson....now I only plow in the spring when the ground is wet and the rocks have some 'give' to them.

I like fall plowing does the soil a better job and the soil can store
moisture but it can be tough on parts . Going to plant triticale as soon
as I get it plowed and worked down

I know where there is one but it?s to big for my tractors . There use to be a few one ways around but they are mostly scrapped . I know the guys use to drag them around some of this country that should have never been broke out the blades must be made of better iron than the blades on a modern disc is all I can say .

Man be thankful . There are reason why some of this ground isn?t farmed anymore back when parts were cheap you could buy a box of plow shares for what one costs now days and diesel was 50 cents a gallon not 3$ Yet commodity prices are the same or less

Or get a smaller tractor. Years ago I was plowing a new patch behind the house because the wife wanted to plant some giant pumpkins for the boys. Borrowed the neighbor's 2-14 Ford plow. A few furrows in, hooked a ~5' long chunk of an old foundation that a previous owner had buried. Didn't hurt the plow any, but stopped the tractor so fast I just about had to get the steering wheel surgically removed from my stomach.

If I had known the truth about this mess I?d have
taken the 3020 and a the 3 16 IH 642 rollover with
wore out shares . But no I take the best plow I?ve
got with brand new 75$ hard surfaced shares that
didn?t have 15 acres on them because I wanted to
do the guy a nice job 😡😡😡😡😡
