My mother in law bought a book on the history of New Egypt New Jersey as she still has relatives in that area. Knowing I'm an Oliver nut and her having a connection to the building she sent this photo to me. Her grandfather was Norman Bright who later had an IH dealership in the same building.

I was leased to Daily Express,Carlisle,Pa in the 70's. Used to haul new Deutz,JCB and other tractors out to the Midwest from the port of Baltimore, and haul new IH tractors out of the plant in Rock Island,Ill. back.Hauled new Farmalls into the the IH dealer Norman Bright in New Egypt,NJ several times.
Pic is from 80's with a load of new JCB's going west.

Larry, I have only been down to New Egypt a few times and it just keeps growing. It was some really nice farmland.

Trkr, Thanks for the reply. My mother in law wasn't sure how long the dealership was in business. Did you ever haul IH's to the Walton New York dealer?

Sorry,I misunderstood your question. No,I didn't deliver up in New York. My return trips were usually Pa.,N.J.,Md. and Va.

Pete, 1973 was my introduction to Oliver. My dad bought a brand new 1555. While in the Air Force he had used an Oliver and liked them. A lot different than the G,B,50 and 1010 Deere's he was farming with.

New Egypt sits in the middle of a lot of nice farm acreage. Joint base McGuire,Dix, and Lakehurst is nearby. I go to a farmstand in Plumstead Twp. near New Egypt twice a year to stock up on preserves, then visit with my friend Ermal at Gen Doyle Nat Cemetery nearby.

I worked for Don Knapp in Elk Creek when I was a kid. He had two 77's and a 1550 that he bought new from Chase
I spent most of my time on the 77's, but once in awhile I got to plow with the 1550 and a three bottom semi-mount - I thought I was in high cotton when I got to do that

Glen, Checked out a B 52 at the air show I think in 07. The B 52 was the plane my dad finished his career in the Air Force with.
