What's going on here?

My brother found this framed photo at a flea market and sent it to me because he knows I like Case stuff. But what is going on here? Looks like two tractors and two steamers, and one steamer is pouring the coals to it but I don't see it belted to anything. At first I thought they were moving a building but I don't think this building is off it's foundation and looks like too much HP for the job. Almost looks like a cable between the Case and the steamer behind it. Can anyone identify the size of the Case cross-motor or the brand of the tractor on the right? How about the steamers? Any guesses?

The building could be bigger than it looks because we can't see the length of it. You could be right.
Did you make the Twin Brooks show?
I had planned to go but my plans got changed for me.

I believe they are just taking a picture of all their equipment. If they were moving the house why is there a trailer close to one side? Also the house doesn't seam to be up on skids. I guess we will never know. Stan

Sometimes I don't even know I have plans and I have plans. And like you I find out I had other plans before I made my plans. gobble

In the early years, many buildings were moved using skids rather than wheeled means. This was common over soft ground, snow, and when no roads were around.

From the angle in the pic, the building "might" be on skids.

Would anybody want to venture a guess on what make the tractor on the right might be? It's a good sized tractor judging by the height of the wheels. The case ain't no slouch either. No Eagle on the radiator so guessing it's a 22-40?

My first impression on the right tractor is a Twin City. 27-44? The Crossmotor I would guess at a 25-45 because of the auxiliary tank placement.

(quoted from post at 10:28:26 08/13/18) looks like too much HP for the job.

Judging by the tracks on the ground and what appears to be mud on some of the wheels it's likely a traction issue, not HP. Seems funny one steamer is fired up to the max and zero smoke from the other. Maybe its just the way the picture is
