Parts for Korean Tractor

The reverser went out on our 2000 Long Land Trac 470. Repair guy had a hard time finding parts and they had almost doubled since he got them last. This tractor uses a Mitsubishi engine and transmission. The Montana was the same tractor, don't know about the LS and some of the other Korean builds.

Mitsubishi is still building engines and it seems me as if Mitsubishi wouldn't have built a special engine and trans for each different brand.

How do I go about finding parts for this tractor?

John the trouble with Google is they show you site that SAYS they have or can get Long/LS parts. Then you call them and find out there is a very limited supply or just a few things. Forget getting anything that is just for that tractor like a sheet metal or that type of stuff. The engines usually are not too hard. Clutches and mechanical parts can be much harder as there are different manufactures making them over there. LS does not make the entire tractor just like the major brands there is out sourcing for many components.

I understand that, but if I can find a part number, then I search that particular part. I am usually able to find the part at a reduced price with a little work.
For example, I needed a pully for a machine. Oem was 37.89 + shipping, found a common part number for the part, and was able to get it shipped to me for 14.65. I'll admit I don't always have such good luck, but I have learned to investigate before making any purchase.

Some place on your engine is a Mitsubishi data plate. Mitsubishi engines are ubiquitous in thousands of application. Get the series number and the serial and go to Mitsubishi!

John I will agree with looking around. Here is one for you. We have several 1980-1990 year Ford trucks. Three of them have feed mixers on them. Zero computers. I needed the brake light switch. for one of them. Air brakes. Ford still has them $185. I found the Manufacture number on the side of one of them. $16 off Ebay. Brand new in the original pack.

So I always look for things like this. You can save a lot of money doing some extra leg work.

The trouble with the Korean and Chinese built stuff is the little side line manufactures are not accessible here in the US.
