Deworming hens

I need to deworm my hens. I am having juvenile hens die with no indication and I have been finding worms in some of the droppings. Is there a de-wormer that does not have an egg withdraw?

Back when I was growing up and had chicken my mom always had me put bleach in there water. Not very much as in maybe a few drops per quart or so but was told it needed to be done to take care of things like that

Back yard chickens is a good site for good info, if you have worms that bad they can
get into the eggs. Better two weeks without eggs than doctor. You can use ivermec pour
on 1 to 8 drops on skin of birds depending on size. 1 for three month bird 8 for full
grown large 6 lb

I use wazine on my birds ever year. I believe its 2 week withdraw but read were some people keep on eating them because it was once used in humans.

If there is 2 week withdraw can you divide them in half and do half tomorrow and half 2 weeks later? That way you are not with out that omelet in the morning.

I really should build a second coop so I can do that. I decided to use the Wazine-17 and bite the bullet with the withdraw. If I loose another hen, it would cost more than the loss in egg production.

Would like to find something without the withdraw for next time, or a preventative with no withdraw.

When I was a kid, mom told us not to eat the chicken pellets because they put arsenic in them, was that true and was it for worms or something else?

Don't think need withdrawal time with DE. I used to use it when I had horses to deworm and also would really cut down on the stable flies.
Good stuff.
