OT: Patsy Cline

Folks, I'm a big fan of Patsy Cline. Indeed, Patsy is my favorite female C & W singer, not to mention her blockbuster cross over hits.

Just Out Of Reach, linked below, is not my most favorite Patsy Cline song. She's Got You is.

I've posted this Patsy Cline song because it is a bit obscure and, perhaps, not familiar to some of you.

FWIW: Patsy's version of this song is not my favorite version. The Lennon Sisters version is. I'll link it below.

Would have to say that "[i:654c4848f0]Crazy[/i:654c4848f0]" is my favorite.

"[i:654c4848f0]Sweet Dreams[/i:654c4848f0]" is another good one.

I listened to Patsy Cline and Lennon Sisters.

Patsy sings "my two open arms"

Lennons (and a couple others I found) sing "my two empty arms"

I assume Patsy version was original, although having lived through the day the song brought back memories and I remember the lyrics as "empty"

Either way same meaning and a good memory from decades ago that seem like yesterday.

The piano was played by Frank Scott. Kathy Lennon was the soloist of the group for a good reason. Given the right material and promotion, Kathy could have given Connie Francis a run for her money. The Patsy Cline version is hard to beat.

i LOVE patsy Cline .She Godmothered Loretta and many others along in the music biz.As good as Patsy does this song ,. possibly in 1977 Emmy Lou Harris did it better . She sounded angelic coming over those Matrix Quad speakers . or maybe it was the company i had in the backseat under a blanket . I got 4 Beautiful children from that gal .

Perhaps you might enjoy listening to Jim Reeves's version of this song. I think I would rate him as my all around favorite.

Love, love, love Patsy Cline! Have several of her songs in my "Twangy Country" playlist. :)

Thanks for the reminder of her... think I'll list-in tomorrow while I'm working at home.

Hello dean,

I have all my 45's to my son for his juke box, but I bet you I can come up with a 78 of two,

Guido.

I bet few would have thought that 50 years later we would be debating which was her greatest hit.
She was special.

Dean I have a friend that sings and has made several CD's. She sang in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium for a Patsy Cline tribute. If you hear her you will think Patsy is alive. I would be glad to send you one if you desire.
