Hey folks.

I have a Ford 4500 industrial with the 201 3 cyl diesel.

I filled it to the top the other day and to my dismay when I tried to start it the
next day it was hydrolocked.

I loosened the injectors and found that the cylinders (at least 2 of them) had raw
fuel in them.

I have never had this problem with this unit before.

The engine has a cav pump.

Thanks in advance.

Brad

Also double check that it isn't seeping past the thermostart if equiped, that's more likely actually than two injectors being bad

I don't see how it could be the thermostart.
That is fed off the return line to the tank.Return line enters the tank half way up the fill neck.
If the thermostart was the culpret the most it could leak back into the manifold and then into the head and pistons would be maybe a cup and that's IF he filled the tank to overflowing.
Did you fill the tank to overflowing?

The thermostart resivour was large on 4500. It could siphion fuel from inj pump as has line connected to excess fuel return on inj.

If he filled it right up full of cold fuel then it sat in the sun easily could push it into the return

Thanks for all the replies....

Now that I think about it the thermostart is bad in this unit AND I did fill the unit right to the top in very hot weather.
