ot Tent question.

My old tent is worn out. It is a Eureka that I've had for almost five years. It was used when I got it. No complaints went through several bad storms and heavy rains. I would buy another but looking at reviews it seems many think the QC has slipped on Eureka tents. Any one have any experience with the Alps Engineering tents? Any other brands I should be looking at? Not looking to spend a lot for a tent. Need to keep it under $400. I need a 4-6 person tent. Just a shot in the dark. Need to figure something out quick as I have a big camping trip coming up the end of the month.

I will second REI. Their Kingdom 6 and Basecamp 6 get very good reviews. The Kingdom is taller, where the basecamp will handle hight winds better.

Look on Youtube for reviews.

Also, check your local Craigslist for used tents. I have seen lots here locally, of all types and quality.

I swear by Kelty, we bought a tent of theirs 25 years ago and still use it. It was pricey but it is a very durable tent.

Why would anyone want to sleep in a tent when other options are avaible is beyond me understanding. And I have used campers in past and still plan on using mine this month
