Strange Auction

I have been waiting on a tool and equipment auction close to me.
Stopped and picked up a brochure supplied by auction company.
Auction was scheduled for today --Saturday August 11 @ 9;00 AM.
I arrived at 9;30 and not a single vehicle or person was there!
Not even a person/neighbor.
I double checked date on brochure and several road signs and then I called the auction company and got no answer.
Bet there are a lot of angry people.

(quoted from post at 17:59:27 08/04/18) This is kinda funny .

Guess that is part of what comes with being 73 years old--think I will just wait.
Thanks--I knew you folks would give a good answer!

You have 20 years on me and I have been known to do things like that along with a bunch of others on here so don't get down on yourself to much!

Well instead of being a day late and a dollar short your a week early and have $$ burning a hole in your pocket. You need to wait 7 days. LOL

Haha! I was off once, too: I arrived a half hour before my small plane flight to check in, as recommended. NOBODY was there except people working. I told them I am here to check in, she said okay, you're REALLY early. I said I was told to be here half an hour before take off. She said, well you're three hours early! I said no I'm not, I'm half hour early, which is right on time! Turns out the time had changed that morning and I didn't remember it was daylight savings day. So I had actually missed my flight by half hour and wasn't half hour early, but half hour late. They were nice enough to let me wait around a few hours for the next flight at no additional charge. DUH!!!

When the time changes in the spring a few cars are pulling into the church parking lot about the time the church service is over.

Today is the 4th. But just so you don't feel bad. I was sent to a construction site two hours away. Was told be on on time no excuse
for being late. Got there nothing but cows. They were six months early.

I predict you have jinxed yourself and will now sleep in past 10am next Saturday.

I went to one that had been cancelled one time. We went down the gravel road where it was and there was somebody out in the road stopping cars. The old lady who owned the place had been hospitalized the night before and she didn't want anybody on the place if she wasn't there. I don't know when it was every rescheduled for,but whenever it was,I didn't go.

I drove almost 100 miles one way to a motorcycle auction, and was a week realy. All I could do is drive home. At least you know where to go next week. look on the bright side you added one week to your life. Stan

I went to one a couple weeks ago and no one was there.Turned out it was an online auction. The internet sale bill didn't mention that.

I did that once a few years ago - was a week early. Had to laugh at myself. Knew something was up when the roads were all empty. Wife works
at a calander factory, but she is no help in these matters, as she is typically about 2 years ahead of the current date.....
