Plumbing PVC Pex

How much difference is there in the O. D. say of 1/2 inch Pex & 1/2 inch PVC. I need to put shut off on this line and it is hard to get to. and I can not tell which of the 2 it is. Thanks for any help. J.

Regular PVC is quite a bit bigger than Pex.

CPVC is the same size.

1/2" Pex, Cpvc, copper, and the old Quest all have a 5/8" O.D.

Get a shark bit shut off and your done with it and will cost less then $10. I use them all the time when I have problems with PVC or pex

X2 on the sharkbite. If it's 1/2", the 1/2" sharkbite fittings will grab on to it if its copper, cpvc, pex...
